Halloween · a small, honest experiment

Halfway between you and the monster.

Put your portrait on the sheet, add a costume face beside it, and Faceblend makes the one face in between — your Halloween alter ego, as a still you can keep. Six generated costume faces sit on the sheet for the season.

  • The second face is provided

A blend needs two portraits. For the season, the costume face is one tap on the sheet — no second photo to find.

  • A still, not a stream

You get one new portrait to save, post or send. Nothing runs on your camera.

  • Nobody’s face

All six costume faces are generated. The only real person on the sheet is the one you put there.

On the sheet through November 2

How it works

You, a monster, and the face in between.

  1. 01

    Put yourself on the sheet

One clear portrait of you — or of anyone who has said yes. Front-facing, eyes visible, as for any blend.

  2. 02

    Add a costume face

Tap vampire, zombie, witch, skeleton, mummy or devil and it lands on the sheet as the second portrait. Generated, so the consent line is trivially true.

  3. 03

    Blend, then keep it

One new portrait comes back. Save it, post it, or add more faces to the sheet and try again.

Questions

Halloween on the sheet, answered.

6 costume faces on the sheet, each checked against the same face detector the blend runs — a costume the detector cannot find is a face that never blends.

What is the Faceblend Halloween sheet?

Six generated costume faces — vampire, zombie, witch, skeleton, mummy, devil — offered on the blend sheet through November 2, so the second portrait a blend needs is one tap away. Blend one with your own portrait and you get the face halfway between.

Does it cost anything?

Your first blend is free, no signup, as always. Further blends and larger sheets run through a Faceblend plan.

Can I blend more than one costume?

Yes. The sheet takes several portraits; add two costume faces and yourself and see what comes out. The free sheet is smaller than the paid one.

Are the costume faces real people?

No. All six are generated, so there is nobody to ask. The rule for everyone else on the sheet is unchanged: only faces you have permission to use.
